Purchasing secure storage for your business tools and equipment or personal property has never been easier. Eveon is the leading provider of used shipping containers and sustainable storage solutions. Whether you need more room or just looking to reduce monthly reoccurring fees on portable storage, a used shipping container is a perfect solution…that won’t break the bank. Used (decommissioned) containers are versatile, sturdy, and highly functional. Generally ignored on the highway, quietly carrying items along the interstate, the humble shipping container is gaining notoriety as a land-based solution.
Commonly known in the industry as a TEU (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit), the 20ft shipping container has been a reliable standard for global goods transportation for decades. Once solely the backbone of international logistics, decommissioned containers are now finding renewed purpose on solid ground.
With their modular design, durability, and adaptability, these steel giants are being reimagined in ways few could have predicted. From eco-conscious homes and sleek pop-up boutiques to mobile workspaces, pools and vertical urban farms, their potential is proving boundless. Eveon is making it easier than ever for businesses and individuals to transform these industrial tools into functional spaces. From trendy pop-up shops to mobile offices, a decommissioned container is now only limited by the imagination. Whether you need to store, move, build, or simply create, used shipping containers are a sustainable investment in durability you can trust.
Choosing used saves energy, money and resources. Eveon prioritizes sustainability by repairing and repurposing used shipping containers, offering a smart, eco-friendly alternative to new or “one-trip” containers. By extending the life of containers, we reduce waste, cut CO2 emissions, and support a circular economy. Properly maintained, used containers are a cost-effective, durable solution that keeps materials out of landfills.
When something is built well, it’s built to last. Shipping containers are manufactured to protect and securely move items for oceanic transport. They have traveled the world, and as a result, can sometimes look a bit rough with signs of wear and tear. Regardless of their patina, we guarantee that each container is wind & watertight, meeting universal, quality standards for used conex containers and is an ideal storage solution for your personal or business items.
The process of repurposing them is as much about innovation as it is about sustainability. Explore the most exciting and creative ways to give a used shipping container a new lease on life this year.

After spending approximately 10 to 13 years at sea, all used containers naturally develop a weathered patina from prolonged exposure to the elements. Constructed from Corten steel sheeting, with marine-grade plywood floors and steel beam reinforcements, containers are engineered to resist corrosion and maintain their integrity over decades.
Every 20ft container we sell comes with our Wind & Water Tight Guarantee, ensuring your investment is protected from the elements. We stand by the durability and performance of the used container but understand that occasionally a container may not function on your property as it did when it was inspected by the driver upon delivery. While not typically called "pretty” we guarantee each 20ft shipping container from Eveon will be wind & watertight, that’s a promise you can count on.
Yes, you read that correctly. Eveon proudly delivers within 3–5 business days! With our network of trusted qualified drivers, we can confidently deliver within hundreds of miles from each depot location. That means 80% of the U.S. is just days away from receiving a wind & watertight container—fast, reliable, and hassle-free. What others charge extra for, is what Eveon considers our basic standard. While unforeseen elements (like weather, accidents and scheduling conflicts) can result outlier events, our team and fleet of expert carriers are dedicated and committed to delivery in 3-5 business days.
The price of a 20ft storage container varies dramatically depending on a range of factors. Buying a used shipping container is much less expensive than buying a brand-new container, especially if you plan on buying numerous containers. While the function of the container is hardly compromised you can expect to pay thousands more for a ‘one trip’ vs a ‘used’ container. Keep in mind that prices vary based on location, market conditions, time of year and geopolitical factors.

In the US the Imperial system is used to measure a 20ft container’s dimensions. This is why all sea freight containers across the globe are indicated by their size in feet. The most common container is a 20ft container and all other sizes are indicated in their relation to a 20ft shipping container. For example, a 20ft shipping container is 1 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit), and a 40ft container is 2 TEU. We can thank American businessman Malcolm McLean for this system since he was the one to first develop the intermodal shipping container last century.
Depending on what you want to use the container for or where you will be placing it, it’s important to consider the weight and overall capacity. 20ft shipping containers have a weight of roughly 5,071lbs without contents. With contents, the maximum weight of a container, called payload capacity, can increase to 55,126 lbs.
Purchasing 20ft of real estate for your property or business is a sizeable commitment, understanding the size and weight requirements while in the purchasing process is understandable. If you’re not totally sure whether our 20ft shipping container will meet your requirements or think you may even need more room, feel free to take a look at the specifications of our 40ft container.
Since its debut in 1958, the 20ft shipping container has revolutionized the way goods are transported around the world. Invented by Malcolm McLean, a trucking entrepreneur who reimagined freight transport. His vision was to standardize steel boxes (20ft x 8ft x 8.6ft) that could move effortlessly between ships, trucks, and trains, cutting costs, saving time, and streamlining global trade.
Today, the 20ft container remains a cornerstone of efficient logistics and versatile storage and is used by businesses, builders, and farmers to move, shelter and protect. With modern day unique applications and use cases we all can benefit from a design that's stood the test of time.
As demands for the container spread internationally, the need for scalable standards became clear. In the 60’s the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) stepped in. By 1968, established standards for container sizes and construction were necessary.
Understanding continuity in logistics was mandatory for efficiency; standardization in the shipping industry was required. The 20ft container was chosen as the base unit of measurement due to its manageable size, flexibility, and compatibility with existing transport infrastructure. It became known as 1 TEU, with a 40ft container equaling 2 TEUs. To this day the 20ft Shipping Container (TEU) is considered as one of the most valuable inventions in the last century. As a result, Eveon Containers only focuses on the repurposing of 20ft, 40ft and 40ft HC Containers.
The manufacturing process of shipping containers begins with a sizable sheet of steel, serving as the foundation for each container. This sheet is carefully cut into multiple pieces. To ensure cleanliness and eliminate any impurities, the sheets undergo sand-blasting and priming.
During the following stages, the sheets are corrugated to enhance their strength, and the wall panels are expertly welded together. Square tubing is welded to the top of the walls for added reinforcement. The floors of the containers are crafted using sturdy and resilient wood that has been treated with a protective spray to prevent insect infestations. The floor panels and frame are produced separately. The door and corner post assembly follows suit. The shipping container steel doors are installed on the floor frame, followed by the attachment of the wall panels. Next, the corner posts, walls, and doors are skillfully welded in place. The roof panel is assembled and securely attached. The final stages of the manufacturing process involve priming and painting the container to safeguard it against weather-related damage.
The flooring panels are carefully varnished to shield the wood from potential water damage, and the floor is then installed within the frame. Rubber seals are fitted onto the doors to ensure a watertight seal, and the bottom of the container is made water-resistant.
Today, the 20ft container is still widely used around the world, especially for dense or weight-limited loads. Approximately 25 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) are active in circulation globally, facilitating international trade by transporting a wide array of goods ranging from electronics to raw materials. It’s become a backbone of global logistics while historically regarded as a sea faring solution is now proving itself as an affordable land-based storage solution as well.
Explore all the unique modern ways used containers from Eveon have been repurposed for various industries. Along with the business implications of the invention of the shipping container, repurposing the Corten steel box is vital to a circular economy. Reusing and repurposing the box engineered to last for decades is smart for business, the wallet and the environment.
