Why Kokomo Containers Ship From Indianapolis
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization, used container inventory for Indianapolis is railed inland through CSX service from the Ports of New York/New Jersey and through Indiana Rail Road’s Harding Street yard from Vancouver and Prince Rupert, then drayed locally. The Indianapolis gateways are the CSX Avon and Indiana Rail Road Harding Street intermodal container facilities.

20ft or 40ft Shipping Container for Sale in Kokomo: How to Choose
The 20ft is the choice to consider when access limits your options. Its tare weight is 4,914 lbs, and its exterior is 8 feet wide and 8 feet 6 inches high. Before choosing this storage container, check both the space it will occupy and the approach the delivery truck needs.
Consider the 40ft when comparing cost per square foot, while allowing for its longer straight delivery run. Its tare weight is 8,159 lbs. The 40ft High Cube has the same footprint, a tare weight of 8,747 lbs and a height of 9 feet 6 inches, giving an extra foot of height. The standards are ISO 668, ISO 1161 and ISO 1496.
Delivery in Kokomo: What Your Site Needs
Eveon Containers delivers by tilt bed, so the container slides off the back of the truck onto your prepared spot; flatbed costs less but you offload it yourself. Choose the method with your unloading arrangements in mind, then check the approach as well as the final position.
A 20ft needs 80 to 100 feet of run-out space; a 40ft needs about 120 feet. Allow 12 to 14 feet of width and 14 to 16 feet of overhead clearance. The truck needs room to complete the delivery, beyond the footprint of the container itself.
Suitable surfaces are dry compacted gravel, dry compacted dirt, asphalt and concrete. Unsuitable surfaces are mud, sand, soft grass and sloped ground. An unlevel site can cause the doors to bind, making access difficult. Send photographs of the approach and intended placement area to Eveon before ordering so the team can confirm delivery.

Do You Need a Permit for a Shipping Container in Kokomo?
Containers on private property are generally treated as accessory storage. The rules to ask about include zoning, how long the container may remain, setbacks from property boundaries and screening requirements. Your intended location and use belong in that conversation before you choose a placement spot.
Ask the City of Kokomo Inspection Services Department and the Kokomo-Howard County Plan Commission which requirements apply to your property. If the container or its delivery would occupy a public right of way, ask about permission for that use as well. Before committing to placement, check with your own jurisdiction before you order.

Purchase suits a need without an end date and gives you an asset that can be moved or sold on. Eveon Containers sells used Wind & Watertight containers, so understand the condition before choosing. Typically 10 to 15 years old, with surface rust, patched paint and dents, weatherproof and structurally sound, and warrantied.
