1) Delivery surfaces during different weather conditions
For container delivery, we have to make sure that during different weather circumstances the unpaved ground is strong enough to hold the weight of the truck. A trucker company needs to anticipate for inevitable seasons of bad weather and rough road conditions during the winter months. 2) No obstructions and enough space to maneuverer
Make sure that there is enough space to maneuver between gates, and no cars are parked at the entrance or other obstructions. This is so the truck can safely set up for delivery. The truck is 13'6" before it tilts, and can be up to 16' tall at its peak during delivery.
Also ensure that the site is free of any obstacles that might damage the truck such as low-hanging tree branches, rocks, powerlines and other items at the delivery site and there is enough space for the truck to make wide turns.
3) Firm surface: no mud, wet grass, or snow
Soft surfaces such as mud or wet grass are unsuitable for deliveries. Due to the weight of a truck (up to 45,000 lbs), there is a risk of the truck sinking and becoming stuck. If there is a risk of sinking, the driver may refuse delivery on site. Furthermore, it is important that we can place a container on an even, horizontal surface.
4) Space to deliver
Keep in mind that the truck needs extra space to deliver the container to the right place. We require 12ft width and 20ft height (please note that when a unit is being loaded and unload the height is 20ft). We require a minimum of 65ft length to deliver a 20ft and 120ft to deliver a 40ft.
How does delivery work?
Eveon arranges delivery on either "tilt-bed", "landoll " or "roll-off" trailers. The reason these trucks are used is due to the size and weight of the containers. Tilting the bed allows the driver to easily load and unload your containers, safely and efficiently.
All deliveries are outsourced to professional local trucking companies that have been in the business for years. Delivery should only take about 15 minutes once the driver arrives (as long as your site is ready). The customer and driver on site are responsible for all safety decisions (more info in our terms and conditions). If the above requirements can not be met, the procedure is as follows: if the driver concludes that your proposed location to place the container is too unsafe, the container will be delivered to the closest possible location. If this is not possible or you choose to reject the delivery, the container will be brought back to the depot.
Please note: Backhaul charges amounting to one additional trip will apply in all locations.
The claim for simultaneous replacement after inspection of the container must be made within 5 calendar days. In addition, the container will be replaced no later than 30 days. The customer is responsible for inspecting the container and reporting any discrepancies.
