Giving Used Shipping Containers A Second Land Based Purpose

Yearly, 3 to 6 million new shipping containers are produced. Roughly 13-18% of newly produced shipping containers are not used for shipping. Instead they are mainly used for storage purposes on land. Which we think is a shame, because producing new containers has a high environmental impact and uses finite resources. Storage is a purpose that a used container can fulfill just as good as a new one. That’s why Eveon decided to focus on giving used containers a second chance, reducing the need for newly produced shipping containers.

The production of one single container emits almost 12,000 kilos of CO2.*

That’s equal to transporting that container from Memphis to Chicago, 15 times.

Used containers are significantly cheaper than ones which are newly produced and fulfill most jobs just as good.
