Question 1

What is a one-trip shipping container?

Accepted Answer

A One-Trip container is built new and used for a single voyage with cargo, usually from the factory in Asia to North America, before it is sold. It's the closest to new you can buy, but it has made one trip, so expect scratches, smaller dents and possibly some minor rust from handling on trucks, in depots and on the vessel.

Question 2

Is a one-trip container the same as a new container?

Accepted Answer

Almost. It was built new and has made one journey, so it can show minor signs of handling. Structurally and functionally, it's in near-new condition. A container that has never made a trip is rarely available in North America, because shipping it empty from the factory costs more than sending it with cargo.

Question 3

How old is a one-trip container?

Accepted Answer

One-trip containers are typically less than a year old. They're built at the factory, loaded with cargo for a single voyage to Canada, and then sold.

Question 4

What's the difference between a one-trip container and a used wind and watertight container?

Accepted Answer

Both are wind and watertight. A [used WWT container](https://www.eveoncontainers.com/en-CA/wind-and-watertight-shipping-container) is typically 10–15 years old and retired from the shipping lines, so you can expect visible dents and rust. A one-trip container has made just one voyage, so it arrives with minimal wear and its original paint. If you need affordable storage and looks don't matter, a used WWT container is the budget-friendly option. If condition and appearance count, go one-trip.

Question 5

How much does a one-trip container cost?

Accepted Answer

Prices depend on your delivery location, container size and quantity. Request a quote or call [888-839-5614](tel:888-839-5614) for the exact price at your postal code.

Question 6

Why are used containers cheaper than one-trip containers?

Accepted Answer

A used container has already served years in shipping, so it costs less to buy. Used containers are always significantly cheaper than One-Trip, and many storage and site projects run on used WWT or CW containers. Customer Care can help you compare both for your project.

Question 7

Can I choose the color of my one-trip container?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can choose the color of your one-trip container. We currently offer ivory or mouse grey.

Question 8

Will my one-trip container have dents or rust?

Accepted Answer

Expect very little. Because it's only made one trip, your container arrives with its original paint and minimal wear. You may see minor scuffs or marks from loading and transport, but nothing like the dents and rust you'd find on a container that's spent 10–15 years at sea.

Question 9

Do I need a one-trip container for my permit?

Accepted Answer

Some municipalities and HOAs only allow one-trip containers. Check with your local permit office before ordering. If you're unsure, Customer Care can help you work out which grade to ask about.

Question 10

Is there a warranty?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every one-trip container comes with our [Limited Lifetime Warranty](https://www.eveoncontainers.com/en-CA/eveon-guarantee) at no extra cost.
