Life is full of second chances, next chapters, and opportunities to step out of your comfort zone and follow your heart. While it requires courage to face the uncertainty of new experiences, taking chances can be profoundly rewarding. Whether it's learning a new language, taking up a musical instrument, or starting a DIY project, pursuing your passions can help you to live a more well-rounded and fulfilling life.

For Ashley and Nathan McFadden, COVID proved to be the catalyst that it was time to change direction. After the West Virginia native lost his job at the start of the pandemic, Nathan and his family weighed the risks and decided to join the craze of container home building in their favorite getaway spot, Summersville Lake.

“It’s the possibility of a dream coming true that makes life interesting.” The Alchemist, Paul Coelho

Not of great wealth, the family of five was taking a chance and the decision required great faith and support from each other.

“Ashley and I really wanted to create a retreat where people could enjoy the natural beauty of West Virginia and special time with loved ones. Initially we were just excited to explore the container modification craze as a passion project, but we have been fortunate to launch a successful business providing others with a natural and affordable way to enjoy this area like we do.” Nathan added.

"Just like a decommission container, our foundation as a family and community are strong... it was the perfect place to start our build. Once we were committed to expanding McFadden Ridge Rentals, we found Eveon Containers online. They were running a sale, so we purchased two 20ft used containers. Like kismet, it all just fell into place.”

Nestled in the West Virginia mountainside, the unique lodging experience includes 20ft and 40ft containers that are in the process of being meticulously modified. Once completed, romantic cabins with names like Whimsical, Wilder, Wanderer, Wildflowers and Wine will be available year-round, each with their own unique feel, aesthetic, and amenities.

Juggling a growing family and start up business, the McFadden’s value time more than ever post pandemic. When asked about their experience working with Eveon they were quick to respond.

“We're busy with three kids, full time jobs, and of course our container cabin rentals. We appreciate that both the driver and yard manager made it easy to communicate about our delivery. We weren't onsite when they came and didn't worry once that the job would get done.”

In conclusion, it’s never too late to follow your dreams, pursue your passions and live a fulfilling life of adventure and joy. And once you’re ready to settle down, relax with your family and enjoy the great outdoors...Wilder, Whimsical and Wanderer will be waiting.
